"What are you doing here? I told your wife ..."

Passage Three
All right! Enough COOKIEs, cola, and chips! It seems that junk food (垃圾食物 ) is all that the children want to eat these days. Television controls their tastes. The kids see well-known personalities(人身攻击 ) eating potato chips, candy and other processed ( 处理过的 ) food, and they want to be like their heroes. How do they do it? They eat the same food. I wish there were more characters like old Popeye( 大力水手   ), the sailor,   who ate spinach ( 菠菜   ) and not French fries.
Just because I like brown rice(糙米 ), beans(豆类 ), and fresh vegetables(蔬菜 ), I don’t expect my children to eat these healthy food.   I'm glad to cook traditional meals of meat and potatoes for them. I really can't be too upset(混乱 ) with the kids because most adults aren't careful about what they eat.
The other night, my wife and I went to a party where there was plenty to drink but very little for us to eat. They served hot dogs and hamburgers. I can't eat hot dogs, with all those preservatives (防腐剂 ) ,and hamburgers are filled with chemicals(化学品 ) so that they look good. Besides the meat, they had sugar-filled COOKIEs and cake, and of course, chips. Terrible!
I don't want the world to change because of me, but I think people should realize that there are alternatives(替代选择 ) to eating meat. They always tell me that I probably don't get my essential( 必要的 ) proteins( 蛋白质   ). But I feel better than ever and I'm sure that it's because I'm a vegetarian(   素食者 ).I would really like to see more television advertisements which show the benefits of good, healthy, natural food.

Questions 23-25 are based on passage you have just heard.
Q23. What’s not junk food according to the speaker?
Q24. Which of the following is mentioned as healthy food?
Q25. Which of the following is not true?

23.

炸薯条 ).  D) Potato chips.

24.
A) Hot dog.  B) Hamburger  C) Brown rice.  D) Potato chips.

25.
A) Children eat more and more junk food nowadays.
B) Television influences children's food choice.
C) People serve litle health food at their parties.
D) There are many TV advertisements for health food.

Section C
Directions: In this section, you will hear a passage three times. When the passage is read for the first time, you should listen carefully for its general idea. When the passage is read for the second time, you are required to fill in the blanks with the exact words you have just heard. Finally, when the passage is read for the third time, you should check what you have written.

Most of us are burdened by(背负着 ) the past and anxious(焦虑的 ) about the future, making it difficult to enjoy the present. People skilled at(善于 ) enjoying the present are often   described(描述 )   as “living in the moment.”
There are two ways of being in the moment, says Jay Koch, a social worker and counselor(法律顾问 ). “one is to   block   out all thoughts and   concentrate(集中 )   on an   external(外部的 )   task, like, say, hitting(击中 ) a golf ball. Another is to   detach(分离 )   oneself from one’s thoughts-especially   negative  (否定 thoughts-in order to achieve a state of   relaxation . The key to more fully experiencing the moment you’re in is the ability to relax. Which isn’t   necessarily   easy in our complex,   stress-filled   lifestyles.”
Koch says setting aside 10 minutes a day to spend alone, in silence, is the first step.“Then just sit and breathe, and each time you exhale(呼气 )   , focus your attention on your exhaling breath.” As you become aware of negative feelings or thoughts, just picture them being expelled with each breath.
“ Observe your thoughts, but don’t allow them to stay with you. When you feel yourself focusing on a specific thought or feeling, return your attention to your breathing.”
Koch says studies have shown that this kind of breathing exercise lowers blood pressure and increases one’s sense of well-being.
“This, in turn, helps create the state of mind that allows you to more fully experience the moment,” he says. “If you can’t relax because you’re upset about yesterday or worried about tomorrow, you won’t be able to enjoy the present.”
